Creating A Company Culture - Resources Real Estate
"We take the business very seriously, but we encourage a culture where we don't take ourselves too seriously. We believe that education and professionalism can be incorporated in a fun workplace - we always doing something to bring fun,” said Diakon of her company’s culture. “Our agents feel included because they actually are. We include our agents in a lot of decision making and brainstorming. They tend to be happy, positive people and we have a very low turnover.” More than simply trying to maintain in-house satisfaction, Diakon explained that their clients actually reap the rewards. “Buying or selling, our agents are dedicated to our clients’ needs and if they feel happy and well-supported within the company it helps them to do their jobs even better,” Diakon concluded.
“We have great marketing pieces and we are always looking to stay ahead of the curve and be innovative,” said Diakon, whose company won Most Innovative Marketing at last year’s luxury conference in Boston and was nominated for numerous awards this year. “We’re in the top 1 percent of our market area and our average transaction price per agent is highest in our immediate area. But it’s our company culture that keeps us strong,” Diakon told conference participants. “It’s why agents not only work for our company, it’s why they want to help take our company to even higher levels of accomplishment.”
"Sharing our success stories in developing Resources Real Estate with such a prestigious gathering of peers helps build important relationships that will benefit our clients and agents now and in the future,” said Diakon.
Other panelists included owners and brokers from across the U.S. including Bonnie Devendorf, Daniel Gale Realty of Long Island, New York, Bill Mitchell, Carmel Realty Company of Carmel, California and Steve Cieciuch, of Telluride Properties, in Telluride, Colorado — all luxury-market real estate firms.
