HumanizeMD Spotlight - Stacey Franz, DO
NorthEast Spine & Sports Medicine
I believe in a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to treating musculoskeletal dysfunction. Treatment is individualized to each patient and is tailored to help patients meet their functional goals. Examples of such treatment options include physical therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, vitamins and/or supplements, image-guided spinal and non-spinal injections and regenerative medicine procedures.
My approach is based on the Humanics philosophy, in which optimal health stems from a balance of one’s spirit, mind and body. This philosophy was the foundation of my undergraduate training in Physical Therapy and parallels Osteopathy, which formed the groundwork for my medical training.
Initially, I trained at Springfield College, earning B.S. and M.S degrees in Physical Therapy. It was during this time that I developed a passion for medicine and returned to school to become a physician. I currently live in Ocean County, NJ, but grew up in Monmouth County. I am married, and we have a daughter. I love to relax by spending time with my family or friends, baking, exercising, watching professional ice hockey, spending time at the beach, or watching live music. Having played competitive soccer through college, I have a personal interest in continued health through exercise.
Over the years, I’ve given a variety of community and educational lectures. I’ve volunteered as Medical Captain for the New York City Marathon, medical staff at local sporting events, and as a Student mentor/ preceptor for Physical Therapy and Medical students. I’m also a recurring sponsor for a local breast cancer foundation’s 5K run/walk. I’m committed to helping people stay well in that essential triad: spirit, mind, and body.
