Joe Wajda, General ManagerBIO: For Joe Wajda, his life’s passions fall into four main areas – his family, being General Manager of World Subaru and World Jeep Chrysler Dodge & Ram in Shrewsbury, the active community involvement of those dealerships, and continuing to devote time to professional music and theater and teaching the arts to others. His professional music credentials are substantial, having attended the prestigious Westminster Choir College, taught at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and played piano for the original cast during the opening run of the Broadway Musical Wicked.

Wajda began his career in the automotive industry in 2003 with the DCH Automotive Group in New Jersey as a sales consultant, before becoming a finance director of three dealerships in Long Island, NY. In 2005 he became the General Sales Manager at what was then World Jeep Subaru.


“I was fortunate to be mentored and taught the business by owner/operator Ken Schwartz,” says Wajda. “We weathered the financial crisis of 2008, then continued to grow the sales operation.” In 2011, as the opportunity and need arose to separate the operations that were then under one roof, World Subaru and World Jeep Chrysler were born. “The move allowed both dealership’s staff to focus intently on their own product,” explains Wajda.


Renovations were done to the dealerships to create a welcoming and customer friendly experience. In 2014, Wajda was promoted to General Manager of World Subaru and World Jeep Chrysler Dodge & Ram. This promotion created the opportunity for him to concentrate on all aspects of the business, including parts and service. Under Wajda’s leadership, World Subaru was a Stellar Care Award recipient (Subaru’s highest honor for dealerships) in 2014, 2015 and on track to retain this honor in 2016.


Wajda guarantees that the customer’s convenience, comfort and needs are World’s utmost concern. But concern for and engagement with their community doesn’t stop there. “In addition to sales,” he says, “World is increasingly active in the community, developing three core originations and causes that we desire to support.” Those three core causes are Education, the Arts, and Childhood Cancer Research Funding. “Through these initiatives, World has created communities within our community,” says Wajda, “so if you’re looking to buy a vehicle from a dealership that supports and interacts directly with the community in which it resides, World Subaru is the place to go.”
